I am so excited to have some time to read this summer! I have been reading textbooks and specific articles all year, and I am so ready to have a choice in what I reading. I wanted to put my reading list here for a few reasons: it helps me organize, I can inspire you, you guys can comment and tell me what to add and take away. So let's get to it!

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero

So I'm gonna be completely honest, I already started this book, and it is AMAZING! I've recently been really into self-help books like this that have a modern twist. I feel like Jen Sincero thinks the exact same way I do. Her ideas on the law of attraction and self-love are very similar to my views, which makes me love her book even more. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone if you want to feel like a badass.

Girl, Wash your Face by Rachel Hollis

Similar to You are a Badass, this book is a self-help book. I haven't been able to get my hands on it, but when I do I can't wait. It looks inspiring and I can't wait to become a better version of myself after reading this. I also have just started listening to Rachel Hollis' Podcast, Rise, and I am inspired by everything she says, so I cant wait to read more on her ideas about empowerment and sticking up for yourself.

Catcher by Kalyn Nicholson

I LOVE Kalyn's podcast, Kalyn's Coffee Talks, and she often talks about her book, Catcher. It is about a young girl whose brother dies in an accident when she is young, and a boy with grey eyes visits her in her dreams. Ok, Im sorry that's an awful summary but I haven't read it yet. I just love Kalyn and want to support her as well as learn about the book she talks about so often.

Red Lipstick by Rachel Felder

Speaking of being inspired to read books from podcasts, Katy Bellotte's podcast, Thick and Thin, inspired me to want to read Red Lipstick. It is an ode to the iconic makeup look that helps empower women every day.

The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

Im a sucker for Nicholas Sparks novels. I loved The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Dear John, so when my friend suggested The Longest Ride I knew I had to add it to my list. As always, it takes place in North Carolina, but one of the characters is in college, making me want to read it even more in hopes that I can relate to her.

The Power by Naomi Alderman

This fiction novel is about women who share this power that shoots from their hands, and the good and evil things people do with their power. It is on a good friend's reading list, and because of that, it made my list.

The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand

This is a summer beach read with a twist. A body is found in the water hours before a wedding at the same location, and all the wedding guests are subjects, including the bride and groom. This is another Katy Bellotte suggestion and I can't wait to sit on the beach and read this mystery.

The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

This looks like a perfect chick flick. When the main character gets proposed to at a baseball game, she says no and a handsome man comes to her rescue. I LOVE chick flicks and can't wait to read this one.

Becoming by Michelle Obama

I LOVE Michelle Obama and think she is such an amazing role model. For that reason I want to read her book. I think she is so amazing and I would love to learn more about her story.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

Recommended by Oprah, The Power of Now is yet another self-help style book. It emphasized the importance of living in the present moment and tips on how to do that. This is something I would love to improve upon, landing this book a spot on my summer reading list

When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton

A historical fiction story about my number 1 place to travel with a love story and she's also a spy. What more can I ask for? I have been interested in this book for a while and I can't wait to get my hands on it this summer.

Wow... This is gonna be a busy summer if I want to get everything done. As you can see, they go all over the place, but my organization was more or less based on how much I wanted to read these books. I hope this inspired you guys to pick up a book this summer and learn a little more.

xoxo,

Gracie
